With a rich background rooted in the vibrant culture of Kenya, Africa, I, am the founder and Executive Chef at Sattvik Foods®. From a young age, my passion for food was ignited by the joy of creating dishes to delight my friends and family. This early enthusiasm blossomed into a lifelong journey of culinary exploration.

In 1991, I embarked on my professional culinary career in San Diego, where I established myself as a restaurant owner and caterer. Over the course of 30-plus years, I honed my skills, utilizing each day to craft signature dishes that seamlessly melded my African heritage with Asian influences and a touch of American flair. This fusion of flavors became the hallmark of my culinary identity, earning acclaim and fostering a loyal following among diners.

Driven by a desire to delve deeper into the art of cooking, I made the deliberate choice to transition from restaurant management to a more intimate culinary pursuit. This decision was fueled by a profound appreciation for the intricacies of food preparation and a desire to express my culinary vision on a more personal level.

As a founder and Executive Chef at Sattvik Foods, I bring with me a culture and passion for food. I was born and raised in Kenya, Africa. From an early age, I enjoyed creating food to please my friends and family. When I got older, I traveled the world in search of culture and healthy and unique ingredients. My mother and sisters were my biggest inspiration towards my journey, they guided me into my passion for food.

I began my food career as a restaurant owner and caterer in San Diego in 1995. Owning and managing a restaurant on a day-to-day basis was an experience! I used that opportunity to create and develop my own signature dishes. I embedded my African style of cooking to fuse with the Asian culture and some American influences to create flavorful masterpieces. After successfully running a profitable restaurant for 14 years, I decided to explore a more intimate level of cooking.
